Shari is a founding partner of Tallinn and has over 20 years of corporate and commercial lending experience across Western Canada. Having grown up in Fort McMurray, Shari worked as an oilsands heavy haulage operator during the summers while completing her Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta. After graduating from the UBC MBA program, Shari’s career has focused on the energy and banking industries. Shari has held a variety of commercial underwriting and lending roles with Scotiabank and was most recently Managing Director of Tallinn Capital Corporation’s Mezzanine Fund, a predecessor to Tallinn. Shari recently completed her Master of Laws degree through Osgoode Law School. As a mom to two daughters, Shari is active volunteering in school and community programs in Calgary.

Partner & Chief Financial Officer

Alex is a founding partner of Tallinn and brings more than 17 years of experience in finance roles with 15 years focused specifically on energy. Alex has held roles advising both domestic and international energy companies on strategy and business development. Alex was formerly the president of a public service company and has worked in private equity and banking.

Alex has been involved with the analysis and valuation of upstream, oil sands, midstream and downstream energy assets, mining opportunities as well as energy service sector businesses. His experience extends to conventional and unconventional oil and gas properties throughout North America as well as Asia and South America.

He holds a BComm from Royal Roads University and a BSc from the University of Calgary. Alex is a CFA Charterholder, a member of the Calgary CFA Society and of the Petroleum Acquisition and Divestment Association.

Partner and Chief Risk Officer

Henry is one of two founding partners of Tallinn Capital Partners Corporation and brings over 40 years of corporate and commercial lending experience to Tallinn.

Prior to Tallinn, Henry held various senior executive positions with National Bank, including the establishment of the National Bank’s Calgary based Energy Group, Regional Manager of Commercial Banking in Western Canada, Credit Manager for Western Canada, Senior Manager Special Loans and Senior Manager Energy Lending. Prior to his time at National Bank, Henry spent over 10 years with the Bank of Montreal.

Henry is frequently invited to participate at the Board of Director level of client companies including 4Refuel Canada Ltd, SiSystems Ltd, and Pronghorn Controls Ltd. Henry volunteers on various charitable boards and youth camps in Western Canada and is currently a Director of a charitable foundation fund.

General Counsel

Tamara joined Tallinn’s executive team recently as their General Counsel and brings with her more than 20 years of corporate and commercial legal experience.

She has held senior legal roles for two major, publicly traded, international corporations and has significant experience in the areas of corporate governance and compliance. In addition, Tamara has held senior roles advising both public and governmental boards. During her career, Tamara worked with a major technology company, a large energy infrastructure company, a public health care organization and an international agriculture firm. She is also active in the not for profit sector, having served in the capacities of trustee and director.

She holds a BComm from the University of Calgary and an LLB from the University of Alberta and is a member in good standing of the Law Society of Alberta.
